As has been quite correctly pointed out by FotoFlame of Exodus, I have omitted to mention IRON in my summary. A key part of the northern allainces, they are also a primary target of BoB.
Last summers probing attack by BoB, entitled a holiday by BoB, was against the G/IRON regions of the North. It can be expected that BoB was able to evaluate the viability of assaulting the north via that route and subsequently found the better strategy to be to assault through venal.
An attack via that route is not ruled out of course, after BoB so publicly removed RISE from the Ring regions, it was a very public statement of intent. Time will tell which direction BoBs primary assault will ultimately choose.

It was last December that we went on holiday up north for a few weeks roadtrip, not last summer.
IRON also waved the "Look at me, look at me, I'm in your regions killing your dudes!" flag for the last month, with an extended campaign against FIX in Querious that escalated as far as planting a couple of probing POS in a non-critical system near the FIX ED- station (the POS were destroyed by FIX). If they're getting special attention, they aren't just D2 allies that happened to get singled out.
